Transition #1 here we go
As part of this process I might have mentioned that we rented out our very large house in the city, the suburbs, the very busy suburbs! We moved all of our belongings either in storage or to our "chalet" which is in Quebec, where we will be living full-time until we leave at Christmas. Going from 2200 square feet to less than 1500 has been a change to say the least. Not only is it a great exercise in purging but down sizing really does cleans your soul. There's something to be said about having less "stuff", realizing what you really need and not having the space to buy more items. I've now adopted a new attitude, more experiences, less physical things. Located on a ski hill we are now among the trees and nature every single day. The air is different here, the water - better. The options to be active are more enticing with trails to run, bike and hike and skiing in the winter months. So much to explore and take in and appreciate. Speaking of appreciating, it's amazing how you can view your surroundings differently once you know you are leaving them!
We've owned our "chalet" at Mont Ste-Marie 's ski hill for close to 9 years, while we've enjoyed it every weekend for years, we have all noticed a change in the way we are more aware in the beauty of this area. When you know you're leaving someplace it's funny how you start to appreciate it more. We've run more, hiked more Velo MSM trails and have realized how we have taken this for granted all of these years.
Not that we won't love our new surroundings but I speak for all of us when I say that we hope to find this in Aix-Les-Bains, i'm sure we will... Last words, take in what's around you and don't take it for granted.
